Anthony

Born and raised in Carmel, Anthony is the founder and CEO of DNA Entertainment. He started DJing in 1998 and has always been passionate about music. In high school, he thought he could do a better job than the DJs at school dances, so he asked his dad to buy him a DJ system and started practicing. In no time, he was mixing CDs for friends and DJing school dances around town. Fast forward two and half decades, Anthony and his team of expert DJs provide the soundtrack for unforgettable events.

Anthony loves to play House music at events and is on a mission to find the best remixes of classic hip-hop tracks. For any event, his goal is to progressively bring the energy level up and without anyone noticing, having the last hour just packed and full of energy on the dance floor. “I want people to come up to me and say it was the best wedding music they have ever heard at the end of the night.”

His favorite moment as a DJ came on a trip to Bali. While getting to know a resident DJ, Anthony was asked to take over for a few minutes while he went to go take care of something. By the time the DJ had come back, Anthony had the dance floor going—the manager of the club let him go for another 3 hours!

When he’s not spinning, Anthony loves to travel, visit the beach, enjoy good food and wine, and of course check out clubs. He is married to a wonderful, supportive wife and they have two energetic kids. Anthony hopes they’ll be DJs one day!

John

John has been DJing for over 25 years and is one of our most experienced DJs. He started with DNA in 2006 and the thing he loves most is the energy of a packed dance floor. John’s music preferences are techno, trance, and house but he’s an expert at weaving in and out of different genres during an event. John’s goal is simple: “I want to keep the dance floor packed. And when it’s over, they still want more.”

Originally from Houston, John grew up in Monterey and considers himself a local. He’s had a few memorable moments as a DJ in the last 25 years, but his most recent one came at an after party in a wine cave. It was a 3 hour set of EDM and hip-hop that went deep into the night—he loved the underground vibe to it. He also got to share the decks with Skrillex and considered DJing back-to-back with him unforgettable.

John considers himself to be a gearhead—from collecting/repairing/rebuilding vintage electronics, to playing with the latest and greatest new DJ toys. He loves spending time with his family, whether it’s a Sunday stroll down to Big Sur or a road trip to Disneyland. He has a wife and two adventurous sons.

Colin

Colin has been DJing weddings and events since 2010. He is passionate about creating an enjoyable experience for guests, helping them to let loose and have fun. His infectious energy and love of music helps set the tone for a night you’ll never forget.

Even after 12 years in the business, Colin finds himself being moved during wedding vows, heartwarming toasts, and special first dances. His favorite part about DJing, however, is the awesome dance party at the end of a wedding. “To watch people release their inhibitions and burn up the dance floor fills me up with joy. Some people get a bit self-conscious about their dance moves, but when I choose the perfect songs and get a proper groove going, even the shyest attendee will end up letting loose and having the time of their life.”

Originally from Salinas, Colin’s musical preference runs the gamut of genres, but he does have a special love for classic dance tunes, disco, classic rock, and a variety of electronic music. When he isn’t DJing, Colin loves to sing and produce music. He’s played with a few local rock bands and has written hundreds of songs ranging from piano and voice to electronic chaos to string quartets. He is a CSUMB graduate with a BA in music.

Chris

Originally from France, Chris Garcia has been spinning records for over 30 years. He got his start on the decks at the ripe age of 12 when his dad—who was also a DJ—bought him his first DJ system.

Chris joined DNA in the late 2000s and has been pumping up our crowds ever since. His favorite genre is definitely House music and there’s nothing he loves more than controlling the vibe and watching people dance and be happy. For every event, his goal is to provide the best experience musically and technically as he possibly can.

For Chris, being a DJ is amazing because it allows him to travel the world, meet new people, and make lasting memories. When he’s not spinning, Chris enjoys racing cars and enjoying fine wine and cheese.

Evan

A lifelong lover of music, Evan’s talent for DJ’ing began in the mid 80s, and he started doing professional gigs at the beginning of the 90s. He has worked in influential east coast nightclubs and private parties, before joining a hip hop group who opened shows for acts as big as Wu-Tang Clan and Jay-Z. Evan then began doing mobile DJ jobs in 2000 and has continued to do so up until now. One of his favorite memories as a DJ was when he performed in a side room at a major NYC club – within no time, he realized that people from the main floor had flocked to hear his set!

Evan is a DJ that loves to see people have a good time. Growing up on house and hip hop, he appreciates all genres of music. He’s very well versed in rock, country, reggae, and some international music. His goal is for people to have the best time possible, so he’ll play whatever it takes to reach that point. Evan believes that every wedding is different—each client has their own vision for their special day—so he always does his best to make their vision come to life.

When he’s not behind the decks, Evan enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, traveling and taking his dog to the beach.

Chris

Chris has been DJing for seven years now and has been with DNA since 2016. Chris loves nothing more than seeing the dance floor packed with happy party goers, who are getting more and more into the music as the night goes on. When Chris is behind the decks, he always aims to create a party atmosphere that will keep everyone on their feet all night long. Whether it’s Latin music, hip-hop, or oldies, Chris knows how to mix it up and keep the party going. “I’m fine with whatever music is playing, just as long as the beats match and the crowd is pumped.”

Chris is originally from Bakersfield, but he now calls Monterey home. His goal for every event is a flawless ceremony, hyped-up grand entrance, and rocking the dancefloor. His favorite part of an event is when people start showing up—that’s when he gets excited for what’s about to happen.

When he’s not on the decks, Chris plays a variety of instruments, golfs, and practices with his nun-chucks. Along with his musical prowess, he’s capable of solving a Rubik’s cube in under two minutes!

Jason

Jason O’Neil started DJ’ing over 18 years ago and has never looked back. It all started one fateful day when he was working at Whole Foods and made an especially amazing announcement over the loudspeaker. Anthony happened to be there and, after hearing Jason’s energy, asked him if he wanted to DJ. With his raw talent, Jason was able to quickly become a master DJ himself.

These days, Jason loves DJ’ing weddings because he gets to be part of someone’s special day. He treats every wedding as if it were his own family on the dance floor, making sure that everyone has a good time. Some of his favorite music includes: ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, hip-hop, and R&B—whatever gets the party going. One of the highlights of his career was providing the backing track for a groom as he serenaded his bride with an electric violin piece. He will never forget the look on the bride’s face—tears and all—which showed how much love he had for her new new husband.

When he’s not DJ’ing, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, going on trips, hiking, and just enjoying what life has to offer. Jason is also an accomplished chef, working for one of the busiest catering companies on the Monterey Peninsula.
